Vehicle registration - The Hillsboro Police Department offers license plate/vehicle registration, every Wednesday from 8:00 am to 12:00 Noon. We can issue new plates for automobiles, trucks and motorcycles, and renew current license plates.

Winter Parking - The City of Hillsboro has a policy of alternate side parking in effect from November 1st to April 1st.  Parking is permitted on the odd side of the street on odd days of the month and vice versa from 12:00 a.m. - 5:00 a.m.  The date which you need to follow is determined after midnight.  For example:  On January 11th, the car would need to be parked on the even side of the street if you are parking prior to midnight because effective midnight it will be January 12th, which is an even number.  If you are parking your vehicle after midnight, you must follow the current day to determine what side to park on.  Using the example above, after midnight is January 12th, therefore, you would park on the side of the street with even numbered addresses.  Please check area house numbers to determine which side of the street is even and which side is odd.  If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to call before you park to ensure that you do not receive a parking ticket.
